As Earth Day approaches, most of us begin thinking about ways to take care of the planet and save our ecosystem. As a General Contractor I think about it all year round. I often find myself considering ways that not only save my clients money by trying to find the best materials to conserve energy costs such as Low-E, Argon filled windows to High efficiency plumbing fixtures.
We always try to give our customers what they want and create the living spaces that the client desires. Earth Day is so close and it will be time to remind ourselves that we all need to do our part in preserving our planet’s natural resources.
I want to take this brief moment to help bring awareness of all of the great ways that every homeowner can help save money and our planet’s valuable resources. There are many great products that I can use to help our clients when we build out our construction projects. There are many types of toilets, shower fixtures, Hot water heaters, types of windows, insulation, lighting, and many more ways to save on energy costs that also benefit our planet. Yes, it is true that the initial cost of these items are a little higher than the items that are not “green” but it saves more money in the long run and pays for itself.
There are other ways to help conserve on costs and as a homeowner you can do this yourself to help cut cost on trash removal and keep as much garbage out of the landfills as possible. It is not difficult to purchase compost bins that can take food spoils and turn them into compost for a beautiful landscape or garden of any home. Check out this link that describes how to construct a compost bin on your own if you do not want to purchase one. build your own compost bin
There are some other ways to help conserve resources, keep trash out of landfills and get some of your money back. One way to do that is to recycle soda cans, water bottles and yes, even your vegetable cans. Recycling not only helps keep some trash out of the landfills but keeps your trash removal costs down while you get paid a few dollars for your troubles. Whenever Earth Day comes around, the world pays more attention to different ways to save the planet and going green. It really does pay to think about the planet every day throughout the year because when we save money with green products we also conserve on our planet’s natural resources.
